THE LOCMAN WORLD

THE BEGINNING

LOCMAN was founded on the Island of Elba in 1986. A jewel in the crown of Italian watchmaking, LOCMAN is the perfect fusion of Italian style, Tuscan watchmaking traditions, and new production technologies. LOCMAN’s head offices are at Marina di Campo, in the Island of Elba, a stone’s throw from the sea, and its branch offices can be found in Florence, Milan, New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

WHY LOCMAN?

LOCMAN watches are renowned for making use of state-of-the-art materials like titanium, carbon fibre, aluminium and other hi-tech alloys. With their on-trend casual chic, these ultra-light and resilient timepieces are popular with demanding users who seek something out of the ordinary and unique, fashionable yet discreet. Thirty years have passed and a glance at these three decades reveals a wealth of excellent achievements, including the 2003 launch of the first all carbon case, as well as the opening in 2006 of the Scuola Italiana di Orologeria, an internal academy dedicated to training specialised personnel and to creating inhouse movements.

CELEBRATE LOCMAN

To celebrate the important milestone, Locman presents Montecristo Anniversary, a prestigious mechanical chronograph with a ‘Swiss made’ movement (ETA Calibre 2894-2), produced in an exclusive numbered 300-piece limited edition. The 30th anniversary logo, in a vibrant shade of red making a powerful contrast with the anthracite dial, is placed at 12 o’clock beneath the Locman logo. The running seconds display appears at 3 o’clock, with the chronograph hours and minutes counters at 6 and 9 o’clock respectively. Fitted with an elegant black leather or silicon strap, or a stainless steel bracelet, Montecristo Anniversary is water-resistant to 10ATM (100 metres).

TECHNOLOGY

Locman can be relied upon for its constant research into new material applications and development of cutting-edge design concepts.

This ongoing research is an everyday challenge for Locman and the only way forward if it is to produce timepieces whose core value is looking to the future, heralding trends and fashions.

Years of research and investment in new-generation technologies have led the Locman Group to highly prestigious achievements, including the creation of the world’s first carbon fibre and titanium case.

SIO – ITALIAN SCHOOL OF WATCHMAKING

In 2006 Locman opened the S.I.O., the Italian School of Watchmaking.

S.I.O. is a school oriented towards training and research of new technologies and innovative materials and mechanisms.

The S.I.O. courses organized directly on the Island of Elba allow the participants to obtain a specialization in the watch market, on the whole production chain, from prototyping to after-sales management.

The S.I.O provides the entire know-how to the Locman Service Centers located throughout the world, ensuring high skills and professionalism for a fast and effective service.

There are different types of courses: the Course of Watchmaking (Mechanical and Quartz movement) to prepare future professionals and a Course dedicated to beginners: a full immersion in the world of watchmaking which allow you to get the basics of dismantling activity and assembly of an automatic mechanical watch. For further information, please contact us….
